  1. Maybe their sincere, maybe not, but one thing for sure, these people are going way too far over their heads about whether the work that some of these government agencies like animal rescue and control are carrying out is considered ethical and humane practices or not. First of all, I think PETA are completely out of control considering their comparisons and actions. How can anyone in their right mind compare the animals to the prison camps of the first world war? You've got to be insane. It's the cycle of life. Survival of the fittest. It's unfortunate, but it's how things are. There has to be control and order for any society to survive. Otherwise, there will be chaos. It's amazing how some people can actually convince themselves and others that there is nothing wrong about what they are doing knowing very well that it is, just to make money. Sounds somewhat like their comparisons to the prisons camps, go figure.

  2. Animal Cruelty is a horrible thing. No creature on this planet should be maimed and tortured in any way. Therefore, one would automatically be attracted to an organization like PETA. However, behind the smoke and mirrors of this friendly organization is the reality of an organization that both goes too far and contradicts its own beliefs. PETA has killed more that 14,400 animals over its lifetime. Now for an organization that supports "Total animal liberation" I am guessing liberation from ones life is not what we expected.
Another problem with PETA is that they don't support any kind of animal testing at all. They said they would not want a cure for aids if it meant harming lab rats. This is actually kind of funny being that one of their executives has diabetes and controls it with insulin made from a pig or cow source. So yeah they wouldn't want a cure for AIDS but they are okay harming cows if it means keeping the higher ups okay.
Finally, PETA supports terrorist. Groups like the ALF (Animal Liberation Front) and ELF (North American Earth Liberation Front). In one case a member of the ALF was given over $70,000 for his defense fund from PETA after fire bombing a research lab at Michigan State University. The fact that PETA would secretly hand funds over to anyone willing to destroy building and commit arson sickens me.

  3. One thing I can say about peta is that they need to be stopped. It seems like every time I turn on the tv peta is delving deeper and deeper into actually become the law in the us. one example is the micheal vick case. I don’t agree with what he was doing but does peta really need to have a say in every detail of his case. It really strikes me as odd that peta is going to the courts demanding that they he agree to let them give him a physiological test before he is considered for parole. That to me is stepping way over the bonds that the legal system should allow them. on the other hand they do a lot of good things for the community. I first saw it on The Colbert Report as a joke but I was astounded that they where actually producing it. I am talking about meat that is produced in a lab so that we don’t eat animals. Here is a link with more info: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/cathy-erway/pros-for-petri-dish-meat_b_158196.html

  4. Good intentions led by crazy people cause the intentions to become crazy. PETA is the victim of some of its crazy leaders. I imagine the idea in the beginning was good. But now they have gone to far.

According to petakillsanimals.com, PETA receives a 32 million dollar annual budget. But rather then helping the animals they have, they kill those animals and then spend millions on advertising holocaust related commercials.

Animals have their rights. I don't doubt this, and of the 2 million PETA members I imagine that more then 2/3's don't know what goes on behind closed doors. According to PETA.org/about PETA is merely trying to help 4 distinct areas: on factory farms, in laboratories, in the clothing trade, and in the entertainment industry. Now that might not be so bad. Perhaps PETA just has some radical wings, I guess the problem might be if all the people in the radical wing are also the people in charge!

  5. OH MY GOD! SO FUNNY! I have always thought that PETA was taking things way too far. I remember how angry some supporters were when I went to a rodeo.........ok then? I love the blatant hypocrisy that P&T point out about PETA, the walk in freezer, insulin, etc. WOW! The skinny couple in the beginning saying that violence and non-violence are not morale decisions their tactics.....WHAT!? Later he says that violence is sometimes a moral justification.....yeah good one! Anyhow I do like the idea that there are people who are trying to help animals and forward education to the public to maintain their own pets and so forth, but when they take it to zealot extremes and use hazardous methods to get their point across...then its too much and just like the rabid stray, needs to be put down! As far as I'm concerned, there's room for all of Gods creatures....right next to the mashed potatoes!

  6. First off anyone who relates WW2 issues with animal cruetly is just stupid. You can not compare a human being with an animal, no way around that. I agree with Travis when he said it started out as a good idea, but crazy leaders have turned this group into something insane. I find a group who hates violence against animals and uses violence to prove a point to be full of shit. Oh, and the guy who compared himself to Martin Luther King Jr. needs to shut up, because he has no place to compare himself to such a good person. This group, has been destroyed by the crazy people who have taken this to an extreme level. The older lady who has an animal doing it in a passive manner to try and change a few things is in my opinion a true animal lover. PETA seems to have some other motive, probably money, which is why this group is full of shit, and will never have any validation.

  7. PETA...you are ridiculous. i think this organization will blow things way out of proportion. The idea of PETA was initially a good idea, an idea that has been taken over by a bunch of crazy people who have nothing better to do with their lives but bitch and moan about the rights of animals. now don't get me wrong, i love animals and believe none of them should ever be hurt or tortured by anyone. but when you are using your budget just purely advertising and fighting of court cases. i think there is a problem. PETA could do so much more with there budget than stupid advertising. they should be using this money for every animal they find injured and try there best to rehabilitate those animals to help. NO MORE lame ass advertising, put the money to use where the animals will actually see the benefits, and stop using your budget on advertising.

  8. According to PETA animal cruelty needs to stop and I strongly agree with them on this but to compare a chicken to a survivor of the holocaust is just insanely idiotic. I am certain they lost a lot of potential members when they showed that ad. I do believe that PETA’s main idea of stopping cruelty to animals is a good one but their methods are obviously questionable. To secretly endorse terrorism is not the way to get things accomplished. Most people that support PETA would not become involved with them if they knew of the extremes that they are willing to go. I think what started out as a good cause has drifted from its original path and took many followers with it. I do hope, they one day replace their current leadership and go back to what the organization was originally intended to do.

  9. PETA: PEOPLE for the ETHICAL TREATMENT of ANIMALS.

Before seeing this episode of BULLSHIT. I thought about PETA as an orginization filled with skinny, crazy people walking around protasting animal rights and sneaking into runway shows and ambushing models with their big signs, and causing a scene to get attention.

And after seeing the episode, I still think PETA is filled with crazy people trying to get attention from the media. I would respect the orginization more if they didn't contradict themselves and what they stood for. As the show stated PETA actually has killed thousands of animals in the recent years. I foud it really suprising to find out that the orginization has a personal large freezer. Why would they have a freezer? It's not used to store and keep thier ice-cream nice and cold. Besides they can't eat ice-cream, it made from milk and milk comes from cows and that's probably unethical too.

The main thing that I disagree with PETA is they don't support animal testing to find cures for diseases. I don't care how much someone cares about animals but I think human life is more important.

Also meat provides many healthy calories and protiens that are neccesary for ordinary body functions. By eating the right porportion of red meats can create a healthy diet. I found a great website that has a lot of good information about a red meat diet called the Mediterranean Diet. www.drgourmet.com/mediterraneandiet/meats.shtml
If you like eating meat and want to loose a couple pounds it might be a good website to check out.

  10. Pen and Teller did what seems to be a great job in exposing some serious hypocritical and even terroristic practices within the organization PETA. As usual though I am betting that the large majority of the members of this group have no idea the leaders are so whacked out. Lots of good organizations have an extreme element within them. This said I was surprised at just how extreme these wacos were, especially because they claim to be a group dedicated to the humane treatment of animals and you would think by extension that would include the higher species like humans. I guess not. The thing most baffling to me about their whole creed is the "total liberation of all animals" idea. What could any realistic human being be thinking by believing this would actually be a good thing for animals or humans!! It's laughable to put it mildly to think that simply releasing all the pets, lab animals, farm animals etc. onto the street would be productive or safe in the least. Let’s just see how the president of PETA likes it when she gets mauled on the street by some rabid pit bull or witnesses a loved one gored by a stampeding heard of bulls. Or what about walking out her front door to find her newly planted lawn had just been gobbled up by a couple of wild horses one of which left a pile of fresh manure on her doorstep. Of course when the expense for the walk in freezer was assumed to be for the use of PETA euthanized animals it was clear that the organizations leadership couldn’t live up to it's own ideals. How come it's so cruel for the county animal shelter to put down unwanted or sick animals but not PETA? I wonder if some possible future organization called people for the ethical treatment of humans would be justified in the fire bombing of PETA for enslaving people by making them work for a living.

  11. Ill never forget the film that a PETA representitive brought into a health class in 10th grade. It was full of inhumane treatment of animals and tortore filled deaths just for a slab of meat.... However, last sunday I enjoyed a delicious steak and ice cream. ha ha not together of course! After that film I talked to my parents and they told me that there are now regulations on how they kill animals and that seemed to subside my upset and disturbed feelings.

I feel that animals are here to sustain health and enjoy as companions and entertainment. PETA takes advantage of the compassion of others who aren't told the whole truth of their intentions. It does make me sad when animals are euthanized and kept in cages but that only convinces me more to neuter my animals and make sure that I am doing all that I can to help them stay healthy and happy.

Total liberation of animals would be ridiculous. Cats and dogs creating hell all over, getting hit by cars, and getting in peoples' trash to eat scraps is not the way I would like my neighborhood. Besides, if you were in the wild its not like you can go to your ice filled cooler and pull out your brick of tofu, put it on a spit and roast it without it falling off your stick into the flames.... PETA is BULLSHIT!

  14. An adavantage of PETA is that at least it makes people think twice about hurting animals unethically? Ultimately PETA's ideals will never work. Humans need animals to survive. So much of what we have as a culture come so far with the use of animals. Just because we use animals and in some circumstances kill them for food or clothing doesn't make us carnivors terrible peop;e. Look at the indians they respect animals so much they name each other after them! But they still kill animals and use them for everything from making tools to using them for food. Animals exist for the purpose to be consumed. PETA is a complete waste of energy. Torturing animals is cruel, but it happens on a much smaller scale then human cruelty does. If they want something to protest and be radical about, they should choose something worth while to do it about. On this planet 10 million children die a year from mal- nourishment. Spend your efforts helping them. There is no real benefit to being a Pain Entering The Ass! (PETA)

  15. PETA, honestly do we need to say much more. I am all for fair treatment of animals. I love dogs and have owned many in my life. And I am sad to say, But they had some of the best lives we can imagine. Sleep all day, play when your friends get home, the world is your bathroom and you dont have to clean up after yourself, all your food is made for you, and if you cause a mess, you dont have to clean it up. Does life get any better. I submit that it cannot.

Just because an animal is not out running free doing whatever it wants wherever it wants. Doesnt mean its beeing treated unethical, or wrong. Granted there are some operations that need to be looked into, but to be as extreme as a member of PETA is just down right crazy.

  16. there isn't much I can say about PETA aside from the fact that I have pets. They don't want me to have pets. I see this as a conflict of interest between my dogs and PETA. If they wish to confront me directly I am fine with this but untill they do I see no reason to support them or confront them. should they decide to fight me personaly on owning pets, I will make myself a bearclaw gauntlet and maul them to untill we see how much they love animals. the vegitarian issue is however something else, while I don't see any reason to say it is bad I must say that for every animal you don't eat I will eat 3. because I don't eat vegtables or fruits. Only meat.

  18. I’ve heard of PETA members throwing paint on fur coats and things like that. But to be honest with you I’ve always been pretty ignorant about what they actually stood for. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, well it’s all in the name. When an adult lion comes up to me and says Rai, “Can you get congress to pass a bill of rights for me and my Zoo pals”? I will be more than happy to be at the fore front of the “animal rights movement”.
Most people know that kicking a dog in the face or giving a pigeon alcaceltzer is not ethical. But using animals for food and advancing medical science if absolutely necessary. Maybe PETA started with good intentions but blowing things up and endangering lives in promotion of your cause is where they have lost my vote. Plus steak is delicious.
Anytime I hear PETA member compare the (the animals or PETA) struggle to that of the Holocaust or the Civil Rights movement it really irks me. How dare they diminish millions of people killed and persecuted because of their ethnicity or skin color that was defiantly the most unreal analogy I have ever heard. On the topic of eating animals; Like I said in class most of my friends are vegetarians and I’ve always told them don’t ever think that your better that someone else because they enjoy a hamburger every once and a while. BEING A VEGITARIAN IS A DIETARY CHOICE AND IN NO WAY DOES IT MAKE YOU A REVOLUTIONARY.

  19. Hmmmm PETA... seems like a bunch of scary ass people to me after watching that film. If what I saw was true these people need to be stopped immediately. Fire bombing testing centers thats completly ridiculous, they are supporting TERRORISM. It said they do not even support having animals for pets but I swear there were atleast two poster images with the founder of PETA holding a dog in her lap with a collar and leash. I don't know about that big freezer thing though, I mean who wouldnt want a walk in freezer those things are cool as hell. If want Penn & Teller (mostly Penn) tells us is true about PETA including all the animals they have rescude just to be killed than I think those who did it should be put in a freezer to die but then again Penn & Teller are magicians, they trick people for a living, it could all be BULLSHIT.

  20. Though PETA is a ridiculous organization and a hypocritical one. They have at least recently started using better imagery in their animal rights campaign. Before you would just see bloody tortured animals but now they have adds with sexy looking women that are basically giving oral sex to vegetables.http://www.peta.org/content/standalone/VeggieLove/Default.aspx I mean at least they finally figured out that sex sells.

Being vegan and vegetarian is a great way to eat I did it for a good chunk of my life and was much healthier and fit then I am now that I'm back to eating the decaying flesh of animals. However I'm not as retarded any more I realize that there is much worse things in the world that need our attention. I mean come on there is plenty of horrid things that we should be trying to resolve such as female circumcision and genocide. If we as humans are not yet liberated how can we start liberating other creatures.

Plus the reason we kill and eat and wear so much animal products is because we like convenience, taste, and reasonable prices on food. PETA and the other animals rights groups have not yet marketed such items.

    difference to me."
-Chris Derose, founder and director of Last Chance for Animals

"Even if animal tests produced a cure for AIDS, We'd be against it."
    -Ingrid Newkirk, PETA
    (Washington Post, May 30, 1989)

Q: What would happen...you have a child...the child is dying of diabetes.
It needs an insulin injection. The only way to get it is from a lamb. Do
you kill the lamb in order to get the insulin so you can save the child,
or do you let the child die?

A: Well, I...would not even for my self...or for...I would not knowingly
have an animal hurt for me or my children, or anything else.
    -Cleveland Amory, Fund for Animals
(Larry King Show, October 29, 1987)

PETA. Their cause is fine. But their extremist view and extremist ways and antics of pushing them on others is undeniably wrong and illegal. These quotes are disturbing. The hypocrisy of what Penn and Teller showed was right on point with PETA.

Treat animals with respect? Yes I support that. Are they on the same level as humans? Absolutely not. I have my right to eat meat. And I absolutely love meat! Except not McDonald's. I got sick once and haven't gone back since. Can't wait for In N Out Burger to open up here in Jordan Landing!

  22. If PETA bread had it their way, animals would have been the first to be evacuated; post hurricane Katrina. Can you imagine the footage on fox news of a horse, cow and pig floating by on a raft while people are struggling to keep their head above water? These people are defiantly lopsided. I would love to ask a WWII Jewish refugee what they thought about PETA’s comparison.
Maybe these people need to eat more meat. History shows that carnivores are more intelligent than herbivores. I don’t remember the last time I saw a herd of cows stock and pounce on a blade of grass.
I guess we should all sign our mortgage over to the pet cat and then collectively as the human race submerge ourselves into the ocean. That would be the perfect ending to evolution… Right?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Just to start I am one against cruelty to animals in any way. But PETA...they take it to an extreme. I mean how are you to fight fire with fire? Understandable they are trying to get their point across by putting it out there what they want to try to accomplish but to what extent? I mean c'mon! Yes it is important to stop animal abuse as well but do they not realize they are harming them in the process? I say this because I call them out, just as the show did, they are hypocrites. They kill more animals then the shelters they are protesting and unlike the shelters, I don't see too many adopt-a-pet being run by PETA and if they are, well unlike themselves, aren't heavily advertising it. And something that I came across on (of all websites), Ingrid Newkirk has a myspace account (http://www.myspace.com/ingridnewkirk). After viewing a few things on there that were posted to her profile didn't make sense all too well. "I recently addressed the International Nonviolence Conference in Bethlehem—it was the first time nonviolence toward animals had been formally included in what have always been 'humans only' conference agendas." Rigggght....well that would make sense. Seeing as that you HAVE PETA. PETA is already (as mentioned in her 'profile') GLOBALLY recognized. PETA is at more events than I can remember! For instance, I have been attending warped tour for the past 4 years now and every year there is a PETA booth located smack-dab in the center and guess what....warped tour is about music! so for her to feel proud that 'oh i spoke to a humans-only group (ha which you are Ingrid..in case you forgot since your blood pulses with 'their' blood and you're the freaking animal whisperer) i'm bringing more attention to animals.' uhh you've already done that! yes it is good but guess what...i've always been aware of the misfortunes animals have suffered through. I'm not blind and dense to that fact and neither are many people.

  24. I like animals, and I agree with other posts that no animal should be tortured. I am not vegitarian but I am friends with a lot of them and I always thought that it would be hard to go without meat forever. I thought it was really weird when PETA thinks it's wrong to have animals as pets. I think it's wrong to have cats and dogs roaming around the streets. There are certain animals that are domestic and others that are not. The thing is the PETA videos will make anyone turn vegitarian but we need animals to help us survive. For example in the movie a lady was talking about how she would have died if it wasn't for animal products. So I think that PETA is bullshit.

    ReplyDelete
  25. ok so the thing with peta ya i can agree with some of the things they say like cruelty in slaughter houses now i love meat but in some cases (not many but wich peta thinks is everywhere and just oh so cruel) the animals are mistreated and that i dont think is right to torture the animals but a quick and painless death i see no problem in they are raised for that specific reason to be eaten and like they said in class if the did release all the animals where would they go they cant have them as pets so what to do just let them roam that would cause more problems then it would be worth.and it seems like the people that are involved with peta are young people whoa re a little confused and want to feel included that cant be said about all of them there are some people in peta that just want to do what they think is right more power too them but i have had many friends that have been heavily involved in this organazation going to rallys and things like that when they where younger and didnt really fit in anywhere but now as they get older and kind of find there own groove or niche they have nothing to do with it anymore but that is all i have to say

  26. animals need to be protected but not to the extent that peta demands. to stop medical research just to protect an animal is rediculous. human life is MORE important than any animal's life. to condone terrorist tactics like peta does is wrong. peta was a good view point on prtecting animals but to take any good thing to an extreme is wrong, especially when that extreme begins to hurt human life. peta's leaders need to understand that comparing animals to nazi war victims is wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I just love how PETA was complaining about killing animals and they are doing it themselves... Talk about hypocrypes!! (sp) Personally I think if you aren't abusing the animal it should be oerfectlt fine on how it lives. When PETA is trying to have us stop with the whole animal thing they don't know what;s going on inside an animals head!!! The animals want to live their lives however they should. Plus I don't know where I'd be if I couldn't have my staek when I can afford it!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. PETA's idea of protected animals should be a good idea. Animails are just like us in some way, need to eat, sleep, live, and having soul. We shouldn't treat they with cruelity. But if PETA really supporting violent to achive their animal "freedom" goal, then it will be wrong, human is life too, and remember, peoples of PETA, you are human too. And if PETA also in part of attacking animal research center, then they are nothing but terrorist. Let animal free from the cage sounds good, but were will you let them be? Think about that. I've also heard about PETA also attacking people's idea of eating meat, then what? Point out we are the murder too? In my point view of animals, just eat them!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I HATE PETA! They are a group of terriorists, plain and simple. Just take a look at the news, with suicide bombers and worldwide terrorism...then compare it to the tactics used by PETA...they look the same to me. I find it interesting that their whole purpose, or alleged purpose, is to liberate all animals. First, i am a pet owner. My wife and i have two cats. They have everything they could ever need or want in life...safety, food, shelter and toys to play with. You find me a cat on the street with guaranteed food and shelter, that is safe...it is few and far between. I can understand them not wanting animals to be tortured...who does? and if they choose not to eat meat or wear fur, then by all means, go for it. but i can honestly say that it doesn't matter how many stats or protests they throw out there, it is not going to change my desire to eat meat. If they were to turn their focus to eliminating animal cruelty, then i could get on board for that...but i'll be eating my medium rare steak until it gives me a heart attack in my 30's

    ReplyDelete
  30. i believe in people eating tasty animals. i like the way that everything tastes like chicken. wait we have beef to and venison and fish. OK, so everything doesn't taste like chicken. if everything doesn't taste like chicken, does that meant hat PETA is off the mark too? most people that have had a pet would agree that to abuse that pet is a horrible thing and i agree. in my family our pets have been treated more like members of the family than pets, but there is still a difference. if i let my dogs out and they find a cat, more than likely it will end up messy. there is a natural order here that PETA will not accept. with a stated goal of freeing all animals, regardless of breeding, we have to ask where, why and for what reason? where would we put these freed animals? if we just suddenly dump all of them on the street we would have utter chaos. there would be bloodshed as animals don't use the diplomacy that humans try to use. this is my territory get out or die. the strongest takes control. that is the law of the jungle. what about the animals that try to go back to their former masters?
why would you "free" a dog that loves his home, protects his people and doesn't want to leave? apparently PETA members have been given the special gift to talk to animals like Dr. Doolittle. in PETA's case all animals say that they hate humans and the prisons they are in. so PETA is taking on the fight for them, in any way that they can. extremists again...what have we come to. can anyone just look at both sides of an issue anymore? what is the real reason that PETA needs to release all the animals in the world from the various "prisons" they are in? maybe the founder killed her doggie by accident when she was a kid and therefore feels that she needs to make sure that it never happens again to any animal. i honestly don't know, but they as an organization have proved to be violent and hypocritical. i for one have loved my dog and i feel that my dog loves me back. also i like meat and veggies. balance

  31. I am a full member of PETA. People eating tasty animals... Ok seriously though they have good intintions but the way they go about stuff is just stupid. Lets protest outside an animal shelter because they are uthhenizing animals but we will not adopt the animals out because it is slavery. it would be better to let them die so i can protest about it. The part that goes to far for me is when they compare animal cruelty to the holocaust. Do they realize that stuff like that still happens to humans around the world? but thats ok right? becasue they are not animals. And the ultimate hypocracy in the movie was the part with the high up lady who is diabetic and takes insulin...Ha ha ha ha ha ha... idiot.

    ReplyDelete
  32. To compare owning a pet to slavery is crazy. I don't think a pet animal could have it any better than in a home. I didn't realize how crazy Peta was until I seen Penn and Tellers episode. It was shocking and very disrespectful to compare slaughter houses to the holocaust. How is an animals life in any way comparable to a humans? Talk about being hypocritical as well. To take a stand against animal testing and having one of your leading representatives using insulin. They are entitled to their own beliefs and opinions no matter how crazy they may be. They can keep ranting about animal rights and I will still enjoy eating my steak.

  33. Let me start with this "If the death of one rat cured all diseases, it wouldn't make any
difference to me." -Chris Derose, founder and director of Last Chance for Animals

I would forfeit my life for the human race if I knew my death would cure all diseases. I would offer mine in a heartbeat.

Now, let me say that I think all animals should be treated ethically! If you don't think so that’s fine, you have a right to your opinion as do I. Animal abuse is extremely messed up. Violent acts toward animals have long been recognized as indicators of a dangerous personality disorder that does not confine itself to animals. “Anyone who has accustomed himself to regard the life of any living creature as worthless is in danger of arriving also at the idea of worthless human lives,” wrote humanitarian Dr. Albert Schweitzer.

Do I think PETA is bad? No, I don’t. Any organization can be harbor whacked out people, just look at a local church and see for yourself. There are extremists in most everything. The act of bombing something clearly isn’t very ethical and if you have a word like ethical in your title you better live up to it. However when I hear somebody sitting by me in class saying "Lets bomb PETA because they're stupid", I believe that they have joined the ranks of the whacked out. Being ethical means that even if you don’t necessarily agree with the position of an organization you are not entitled to act in any way you choose while trying to oppose them. Ethics, it seems to me, is not a destination to be arrived at, but rather a means of getting through life in a way that does as little harm as possible.

Remember that it was Mohandas Gandhi who said, “An eye for an eye leaves everyone blind”.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I heard that PETA wants to use women's breast milk in ice cream instead of cow milk. PETA is extremely irrational. They want to put animals before people and laws. You cannot do that. I believe anmilas do need to have more rights but not if those rights are obsurd or hurt the human race. Arsinics and anmimal killers are the people that follow PETA. They do not think straight and there methods are hurtful to the country. The leader and followers are also hypicritical which is never effective when fighting for a good cause. Good causes should be faught by good people in peaceful ways.

P.E.T.A. is not an organization dedicated to eradicating cruelty against animals; it is an organization formed for the sole purpose of removing all human involvement or interaction with animals in any capacity. If you wish to commend an animal rights group for taking steps to ensure animals are treated humanely, support, encourage and give praise to the ASPCA* (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).

It is unfortunate that so many low level PETA supporters and memebers are unaware of the less savory aspects of their organization's agenda; it is equally troublesome that P.E.T.A. campaigns rely so heavily on emotional blackmail, misinformation and outright lies. Several months ago, one of the rotating LED billboards displayed an infuriating lie as part of of larger PETA anti-milk campaign that linked milk with autism in children**. While this is not as large a health hazard as the horrifying antivaxxers***, it still poses a disturbing kind of fear mongering that leads people to make poor decisions based on a misguided agenda.

I have long been aware of PETA's position on pets, because I have a five year old parrot and follow news of legislation banning the type of conure I have. PETA supports these bans, most of which include orders to confiscate and euthanize companion parrots.

  36. What PETA is trying to do is lile recycling. What they are doing is not really helping. If she have to kill animals most of the animals she saved, what is meaning of doing that? I think it is worse than helping them. Somehow I really did not like the way she talked either. I agree that is important to save animals. I hate people abuse animals because they are weaker than us. But it must be a better way to save animals than what PETA does.
I can take care of my dogs and cats till they die. But I do not want to have more than I have right now. At least I know how many I can takes care of.

  37. PETA seems to be a great idea, I mean who wouldn't want to be against animal abuse? Well except for those who love to abuse animals. The only problem with PETA as it has been portrayed in the episode is that it's leaders are a bunch of psycopathic maniacs who are so enthrawled in their so called cause that they happen to purposely forget the other important things and laws in our lives.

However you can't blame the whole organization on its moronic leaders, I believe someone in class said that they knew some people who are a part of the organization and who had know idea what the head person whatever her name is was doing. PETA is an organization that stands for the protection of animals, which is a good thing and I am sure that most of it's members join because they believe in just that, and I'm sure that none of them have even been on a protest out in front of a perfectly harmless animal shelter. It's just a case of one bad person or in this case a bunch of bad people giving everyone else involved who actually are there for the right reason a bad name.

  38. PETA, I like how they brought up this issue on PETA. I think that PETA can go over board. I know that we get a one sided view in the move, but i think the idea of PETA is a good idea but that it has gone to far. With there protests. I think that PETA has come to the point that doing anything to help the animals is alright, even if they break the law. I do like how they care for the animals. I believe that they have done good. I know that there are people out there that abuse aniamls for fun and that not right and i think that PETA does a good job to help people know that it not alright to abuse animals.

  39. PETA is crazy! I have always hated PETA and now I have an even bigger reason to! This episode is probably the one that opened my eyes the most. I agree with anyone who tries to help animals there is no question about that but to start violence because of it now that is where PETAis ridiculous! The founder of PETA is nuts you can't kill animals, but we can and we will keep them in a fridge at the same time gross. I agree with other posts whee they say PETA is good and their mission is awesome however the extremeists are what make them a sick and sad orginization

  40. TO REITERATE.

    1. PETA is NOT founded to stop abuse, that's the ASPCA. PETA advocates complete disinvolvement.

    2. Even mid- and lower-level members use lies, blackmail and misinformation to manipulate people. Their misguided agendas are systematic, not isolated to crazed leaders.

  41. PETA really makes people think twice about abusing their animals. They really get into peoples heads about saving all the animals. I think they are hypocrites though. They want to save all the animals, but they are not willing to take them in themselves? (well, at least not publicly) So all the stray cats and dogs that carry all sorts of diseases are o.k. to roam the Earth as they please- and bite little kids. That makes perfect logic. I do believe in treating animals properly- but I don't think that McDonald's kills their cows like Hitler killed the Jews.

  42. So why don't Lions get blamed when they kill to eat? Face it folks we are the top of the food chain, animals are here for out taking! i love hamburgers and don't really care how it was killed. This organization is nuts, and think they are all a little self righteous media craving suckers. They need to take a step back and look at themselves closer, what are they trying to accomplish? anywho, i'm not going to lose any sleep over it tonight.

  43. I honestly have nothing against animals, I don't love them nor do I hate them. Dogs are probably my favorite out of all the other animals. And even though i don't like cats that much because i am a bit allergic to them and i get swollen eyes haha i would never hurt them. i really think its sad when animals get abused, thats why i think PETA is a good idea, the only thing i dont like is how PETA is getting a little carried away and taking things a little to far. PETA thinks animal testing shouldn't be allowed, but i think otherwise, i think it is perfectly fine the test of animals because in my opinion humans are a more dominate species than animals such as rats, racoon, etc.. i think it is a better trade than a human. testing on one rat and finding a cure to something like aids would save millions of people. i hate how people think its only asians who eat animals, not ALL asians love eating animals, it irritates me when i go to one of my friends house, and they have a dog. they will usually say thing like why you looking at my dog? dont eat him please.. to me when people say something like that or something similar its not funny. but overall i think PETA is a good idea, only if they didnt take it so far...

  44. I love animals. Animals are the best! They are so cute! People who hurt animals are evil =(. That said, PETA is a bit overboard. I like what they stand for, I think animal cruelty is disgusting! But, they take everything way too far and PETA should be revised. I have mixed feelings on animal testing. I think that it can definitely be helpful and beneficial, but I think that they should attempt to not harm the animals. Significant advances have come from animal testing, so I find it hard to choose whether or not to allow it. I think it should have limits, just like any other testing.

  45. I couldn't believe this bull crap. PETA officials are completely out of their minds. When I heard them say people shouldn't be allowed pets? What the heck is that all about. If we weren't allowed pets all the dogs and cats in this world would be hopeless. They would have a difficult time finding food and they would all be mangy animals. I lived in South America and it was a sad sad thing to see all the homeless animals that were just dying from disease and starving I think PETA people just need to relax and stop taking this so serious.

  46. I'm all for the correct treatment of animals, but to go as far as releasing every animal onto the streats without any sort of restraint or a way to defend myself is just stupid. I love animals, don't get me wrong, but I think that this whole PETA business is totally crossing the line between crazy, and mentally ill. I believe that animals should be treated humainly because they have brains and can feel pain and all that. but to say that an animal has more meaning on this world than i do is just weird.

  47. PETA is just down right Crazy lol comparing a war to animals No Siree! I believe that they have heart to want to protect the animals and set them free but with the mind set they have it seems like a outrageous crowd of psycho maniacs. I love animals but sometimes life has to take it's course would you rather have human be tested and die of a disease in life. I don't think so, animals may be used for testing but it's for a good cause sometimes, for research to save lives, better medicines, etc. I do hate how some animals are just tested for stupid things such as lip stick, make up whatever! but it's how life is, you have to sacrifice things sometimes just to make life a better place.

  48. People.Eat.Tasty.Animals. Peta has good ideas when you first look at them, the torture of animals, great, just cuase i eat it doesn't mean it has to go through abuse until it get to my plate. But with all their underhanded ways of supporting bombings isn't worth is, i love animals, but to kill/hurt people in order to halp animals doesn't seem worth it one bit... and if peta is corrupt is peta2 also, many great band support peta2.
